Pokemon GO
Credit: NianticThese are looking like a pretty standard part of the Pokémon GO ecosystem at this point, at least for the month of February while Niantic is testing them out. We had another Pokémon spotlight the other day featuring Spoink, and now weâve got another mystery bonus hour this evening, giving us all some special incentive to get out and play. So whatâs the mystery bonus hour for Pokémon GO on February 13, 2020?
As usual, we know what this is early, thanks to the fact that time as told by the clock is a construct, and that people on the other side of the world have already gotten a preview of it.
Pokémon GOâs mystery bonus hour for February 13, 2020 will be double raid XP, according to players on Silph Road. There is some disagreement over there over whether or not this also came with a large increase in the number of raids, so weâll have to keep judging that as the Earth continues to rotate. Mystery bonus hour will take place from 6:00-7:00 PM local time, as usual.
Itâs a pretty underwhelming bonus, but then again, weâre bound to get some underwhelming bonuses if weâre going to get this every week. Itâs not all that useful for anyone who has already hit level 40, because Niantic doesnât yet have a good answer for what to do with XP once youâre done with leveling. Maybe we should get a battle pass? On second thought, letâs not get a battle pass, I have too many battle passes already.
Iâve said this before, but it bears repeating: it made sense to put these things from 6:00-7:00 PM when there were so few events of this kind, but weâve got an absolute ton of them now, and I feel like we should be able to send some love to our daytime players, as well. Not with every event, but that evening hour is a tough one for some people, and any standardized time is bound to leave a consistent group of people out in the cold. Best to switch things up.
