While exploring the Wild Area, trainers will want to search the dens with the red beams of light coming out of them. The silhouette of a Pokémon will appear to show what is found inside.

Gigantamax Machamp is a version exclusive to Pokémon Sword, while Gigantamax Gengar is exclusive to Pokémon Shield. However, players can access to the Pokémon not found in their game through the online features.

To join other people's Raid Battle, players will need to connect to the internet. You can learn more about that in our Sword and Shield online guide.

GIGANTAMAX MACHAMP & GENGAR INFORMATION

Upon Gigantamaxing, Machamp and Gengar get access to exclusive G-Max moves that make them more unique than their Dynamax forms.

A G-Max Machamp knowing a Fighting-type attack can use G-Max Chi Strike, which raises the Critical Hit Chance of your party upon use. G-Max Gengar that knows a Ghost-type attack can use G-Max Terror, an attack that prevents Pokémon from switching out or escaping.

Both Gigantamax forms are normally found in the Stony Wilderness section of the Wild Area, but this event will see them appear in other dens.

Gigantamax Snorlax, who was introduced into Sword and Shield post-launch will make its triumphant return with its unique G-Max move. These special Snorlax can use the attack, G-Max Replenish which transforms any Normal-type move to have the effect of restoring a Berry that was eaten.
